The engraving on cameo is an ancient art already dear to populations such as Greeks and Romans who used the stone to make rings, medallions, earrings, brooches and pendants.

Between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries we witnessed the great boom of Torre del Greco, a precious port city lying in the middle of the Gulf of Naples, which has become the capital of the artistic work of the cameo on a shell.
